How Can Neurotherapy Help Children?

The American Academy of Pediatrics approves Neurofeedback therapy as an effective therapy for children with ADHD, with "lasting" improvements, and has moved this therapy to Category 1 for best supported research in the treatment of children with ADHD. 

Neurofeedback is completely safe and very effective for children.  In fact, children often experience significantly higher rates of normalization than adults as their brains are still developing and changing, making them more flexible and able to adapt to change.

 

While ADHD takes center stage in discussion around children's behavioral health, we recognize that children experience many of the cognitive and emotional challenges that adults encounter.  In fact, a large number of cognitive and emotional issues that adults face actually begin in childhood, and often remain unrecognized until one reaches a critical point in their lives, forcing one to seek help.  By addressing these issues in childhood, including ADHD, we can help boost a child's potential for a more positive, productive and directed future. 

 

The following publication is from an early study regarding neurofeedback therapy and ADHD published by "pubmed", one of the largest and most accepted medical research publication resources available.  You can see that positive changes were noted when neurofeedback was applied, in comparison to placebo.
